Sea and pine forest – Valapoux
This route is a favorite with surfers on the Corniche, with its beautiful views out to sea and the islands. You’ll also discover the old quarters of Sausset-les-Pins as you climb alternately through garrigues and pine forests in a rich nature reserve.
The walk covers 6.6 km with a 120 m difference in altitude. Allow around 2 hrs for a walk with no recorded difficulties. Departure is from the port of Sausset-les-Pins, with blue and red/white markers along the coast.
Botanical trail – La Roselière
The Roselière botanical trail takes around an hour to complete along the reed belt, home to many species of birds. The walk takes you along a botanical trail featuring numerous species of Mediterranean plants and trees. This protected flora contributes to the beauty of the area.
Between Sausset-les-Pins and La Couronne lies the jewel of the Zone des Roseaux, the only wetland on the Côte Bleue. Originally used for water supply, rearing and collecting rushes, this site is a natural wilderness, particularly attractive to birds, and plays an important role throughout the year.
